I was born in Sweden and educated in British Columbia and California. I have spent over 35 years photographing nature and landscapes in all formats of film and high-resolution digital imaging. In my earlier years of photography I shot predominantly to medium or large format films including 4 x 5 and 8 x 10 view cameras working almost exclusively in black-&-white. Landscapes, inspired by great photographers, such as Ansell Adams, have always been a passion for me. More recently I have embraced digital imaging.
I have been creating fine art photographic prints for over 25 years, offering the prints directly and through various galleries. Originally my prints were all archivally processed enlargements on black-&-white, fibre-based chloro-bromide prints. In recent years, with the phenomenal advances in digital photography and photo printers, I have released many new, limited edition, color and black-&-white images printed on various 100% rag papers with archival inks.
I have been a photography instructor at a number of institutions and schools for many years. Currently I am an instructor at Vancouver Institute of Media Arts (Vanarts) and at Vancouver Photo Workshops teaching about various fields of nature and landscape photography. I do workshops on a number of photographic techniques and subjects, and I guide enthusiastic photographers on photo tours. My passion for photography is as strong in the sharing of my ideas and techniques as it is with my shooting and producing of fine art photo prints.
